Public Transport

Birmingham is served by three mainline train stations, all within easy walking distance of Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market. The city enjoys a great bus network and tram service within the city region, and all major coach companies have frequent scheduled services to the city.

Comprehensive information on public transport can be found here:

Car

There is ample parking in the vicinity of the Christmas Market. Details of city centre car parks are available online.

Please note that the Birmingham City Council multi-storey car park on Navigation Street does not have a lift and therefore may be unsuitable for some visitors.

Blue badge (disabled) parking is available at different locations throughout the city centre. Further information is available on online.

The Christmas Market is located within Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone. To find out what your vehicle would be charged and what action you may need to take please visit the website

Cycle

In addition to the canal towpaths there are a number of on road cycle lanes, as well as two major cycle routes on the A34 and A38. There are many West Midlands Cycle Hire docking stations where you can hire a bike for your journey. You can use the map of docking stations to find the nearest one to you.

An open source map and journey planner is available from CycleStreets. This useful tool shows cycle parking, cycle shops and other places of interest.

Accessibility

Route round market

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is located on Victoria Square and New Street, and the whole market can be accessed by wheelchair users, as it is possible to take routes around the market that avoid steps.

Toilet Facilities

Accessible toilet facilities are available for disabled visitors in the area adjacent to the stage on Victoria Square.

Assistance Dogs

As an inclusive, family-friendly event we welcome Assistance Dogs to the market. The market can be very busy at weekends, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, and therefore may not be a suitable environment for dogs. Weekdays and Sunday evenings tend to be quieter – so you may wish to time your visit/s accordingly.

Blue badge parking

Blue badge (disabled) parking is available at different locations throughout the city centre. Further information is available on online. Please note that the Birmingham City Council multi-storey car park on Navigation Street closest to the Christmas Market does not have a lift and therefore may be unsuitable for some visitors.

Shopmobility

The Shopmobility Centre, located in the Bullring, provides hire loan of electric powered scooters, as well as electric and manual scooters. For information visit https://www.bullring.co.uk/shopmobility or phone 0121 632 1526

Keeping you Safe at the Market

We’re working closely with West Midlands Police and Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands to keep our visitors, stallholders and market staff safe. When visiting the market, you might see police officers and security staff on-site – don’t be alarmed, they’re there to keep an eye out to make sure everyone is able to enjoy themselves safely. Project Servator deployments also take place in and around our market area. They can happen anywhere, at any time, and it’s likely that the officers involved will speak to you about what they are doing. They may also ask for your help to be their extra eyes and ears while you’re out and about, so please feel free to chat to them. These deployments are made up of a range of police resources. Some are highly visible, such as uniformed police officers, dogs or drones. Others are less visible, such as plain clothes officers or CCTV operators. If you see or hear something that doesn’t feel right, report it to security staff or police straight away, don’t wait for someone else to do it. You’ll never be wasting our time as your safety is our priority. In an emergency, call 999. Trust your instincts and let’s keep each other safe this Christmas.
