No, you do not need a ticket. Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is a free public event, open seven days a week. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the market at any time during our opening hours.

When you buy a drink you pay a deposit on the cup or glass. You will also be given one green token for each cup or glass. When you return the mug or glass together with the green token you will get your deposit back for each undamaged mug or glass that you return.
If you choose to keep the mug or glass and take it home as a souvenir then you have in effect paid for it by forfeiting the deposit. You do not have to go back to the stall where you bought your drink to get the deposit back – you can return your mug or glass to any drinks stall.
The deposits in 2024 are £5 for mugs, ½ pint and pint glasses, and £7 for steins (2 pint glasses).

BFCM is an accessible and family friendly event, and as such, assistance dogs and well-behaved furry family members are welcome. Dogs MUST be on a lead and controlled at ALL TIMES.
The market can be very busy at weekends, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, and therefore may not be a suitable environment for dogs. Weekdays and Sunday evenings tend to be quieter – so you may wish to time your visit/s accordingly.

All stalls currently accept cash. Card payment options are also available at stalls throughout the market.

Baby changing facilities are co-located in the disabled toilet/s on Victoria Square, to the right of the bandstand.

Personal use – filming and photography for personal use is permitted throughout the public areas of the market. Please do not take photographs or film children that are not a part of your group without the express consent of their parents/guardians. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave the market in the interests of child safety.

News and media – if you wish to film or take photographs for news or media purposes please contact the press office at Birmingham City Council at  bhamcitycouncilpressoffice@birmingham.gov.uk
Filming for commercial purposes (using the market and surrounding areas as a backdrop) – please contact Film Birmingham at info@filmbirmingham.co.uk
